SUNDAY SYMPHONY presents a major symphony performed in its entirety with background information and interesting facts about the work’s creation and premiere. Some symphonies go over an hour, so sit back and prepared to be wowed by music history’s monumental compositions! Sundays at 10.
AN ENGLISH PASTORALE transports you to a scenic English garden, a lazy Shropshire river, and a quiet Yorkshire glen. The program features pastoral music by mostly 20th Century British composers. Sundays at 6.

 

SPECIAL PROGRAMS including the musical memorials we presented
after the deaths of Sir Roger Norrington, Alfred Brendel, Michael Tilson Thomas and Felicity Lott. If something major occurs in the classical music world, you’ll hear a program about it on Radio Free Classical. Specials occur within a week of events.
THE GREAT UNKNOWNS presents music you may not be familiar with, even from famous composers. From the “Peasant Wedding” by Leopold Mozart to the Symphony No. 4 by Louis Spohr. Sundays at 8.

 

NEW YEAR’S EVE DANCE COUNTDOWN plays the greatest Classical music dances ever composed, from number 40 to the top dance piece of all time. December 31 at 8 pm – 12 midnight.
